“Zex? Ze~ex?”
Zexion hid behind a wall at the end of the corridor that Demyx was walking. All week Demyx had been at Zexions side and it was really starting to bother him. No matter how much the blue-haired man loved Demyx, he really got annoying sometimes and he just wanted a break from all the touchy-feely stuff.
“Zexy!!! Where are you?”
“Shit.” Zexion mumbled quietly to himself as Demyx walked closer. He desperately looked around for an opportunity to run but it was a dead end.
“There you are!!” Demyx exclaimed as he turned the corner and saw the Cloaked Schemer hiding in the corner.
“Uh...ya, here I am.” Zexion pushed out a smile at the adorable blonde who was now attached to his waist.
“Were you...hiding?” The musician put his head down, and his eyes got puffy and red, he was close to crying and Zexion hated when he cried. It made him feel as if he was the one who caused it, which, in this case, he did.
“Oh! Uh...I...No!” Zexion fumbled his words out quickly before gently grabbing Demyx’s chin and pulling his head up to face his, which was actually not a slight movement seeing as Zexion was rather short. “Dem..I was just....reading!” he cried out pulling his weapon out quickly. (Just in case you didn’t know, his weapon is a book...really sad.)
“Reading?” Demyx questioned. His eyes were starting to calm.
“Ya. That’s why I didn’t hear you calling me, this book is so good, you’d never believe it.” Zexion smiled weakly opening the book.
“But...you cant read it.” Demyx stated pointing blankly at one of the unknown words. It was true, Zexion couldn’t read the words, only because they were in a strange language.
“Well..” Started VI, “I learned.” he mumbled. He hated lying to his lover like this, but he knew it would hurt both of them if he told him the truth. Fortunately, he didn’t have to say it, because by now, Demyx had figured it out.
“Your lying. You just didn’t want to see me.” Demyxs’ eyes welled up again, this time, pouring out much unwanted tears onto his black coat.
“Demyx, please don’t cry. Demyx.” Zexion put his hand on IX’s arm, rubbing it up and down slowly trying to comfort him. By now, Demyx had taken his hands off of Zexion’s waist and put them at his side.
“Forget it Zexion, I don’t care anymore, about you or our relationship.” Zexion gasped. He had obviously hurt Demyx very much because the Melodious Nocturne has never called him by his full name before. He felt as if the only man he loved had just ripped his heart out. Hearing that Demyx didn’t care about him also broke him down into tears and before either of them knew they were both drenched in warm, salty tears. Demyx eventually saw that his partner was hurt badly, even though not as visibly bad as it was, he realized what he had said.
“Oh....Zexy..I didn’t mean it.” he wrapped his arms around Zexion and hugged him close. “I love you Zex, and you know that I would never mean something as stupid as what I just said.”
“I-I know..” Zexion choked out, stopping his tears from spilling anymore. “And, Demy...It’s not that I didn’t wanna be with you, its just, I wanted some alone time. I mean, I’ve been with you non-stop all week.”
“I know..I’m sorry.”
“And...I don’t think I need the alone time anymore.” Demyx’s face questioned but he fully understood. Zexion placed his arms around the Melodious Nocturne, and stared into his gorgeous emerald eyes. Demyx stared back. Zexion broke the stare and dug his face into his lovers chest. Demyx placed his head in the Cloaked Schemer’s hair, engulfing the beautiful scent. A muffled sound came from Demyx’s chest that sounded something like ‘Whi holve chyu.’
“What?” Demyx looked down. Zexion pulled away from his chest.
“I love you.” he smiled.
“Ditto.” Demyx replied placing a light kiss on Zexion’s forehead.
For a minute they stood there quietly. Then, they looked at each other and smiled, both looked at each other thinking the same thing. ‘Food.’
